Auli Uttarakhand: A hidden heaven in the highly-dense valley of Uttarakhand

Auli Uttarakhand : Situated in the Himalayan hills in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Auli is a ski destination. In Garhwali, Auli is known as Auli Bugyal i.e. “grassland”. It is situated at an altitude of 2500 m (8200 ft) to 3050 m (10,010 ft) up to sea level. Auli can be reached from Joshimath via road or ropeway. From here, a picturesque view of huge mountain peaks like Nandadevi, Kamet, and Dunagiri is visible. Generally, from January to March, the slopes of Auli are covered with a blanket of snow about 3 meters deep. The 3 km spread ground with a slope of 500 m located in Auli is considered a very good skiing ground as per international standards. The role of lofty snow-covered mountains further boosts the spirits of the skiers. A skiing festival is also organized in Auli to attract attention. Now the National Championship is organized here by the Winter Sports Federation of India. Although skiing is the main attraction in Auli, apart from this, cable car rides rope lifts, or other outdoor games like making snowmen or snowball fights are also centers of attraction.

Trishul Peak Auli

All three Himalayan mountains are in the Trishul peaks of western Kumaon. Its height is 7120 meters. In 1907, the primary peak, Trishul, became the leading peak leading to any point over 7,000 m. The peak can easily be best seen midway along the Roopkund trek.

Winter: From November, December to February, the weather in Auli is cooler than the rest of the year. The temperature can even go below zero degrees. Therefore, it would be better that you keep warm clothes with you which will keep you warm during the bone-chilling nights.

Summers: Auli is the best resort to get relief from the scorching heat during summers from April to May and June. The weather in Auli is pleasant and sometimes the temperature drops to 5-6 degrees Celsius. The snow-covered mountains turn into green meadows which offer a picturesque view of the surroundings.

Monsoon: It can be difficult to visit Auli in monsoon, but with Valley of Flowers National Park, Uttarakhand, it can be done.

This resort lies between Auli and Joshimath. The distance of Auli from this resort is 6 kilometers and the distance of Joshimath is also 6 kilometers. This is one of the best resorts in Auli Uttarakhand

How To Reach Auli By Flight

The nearest airport is at Dehradun. From the airport, you can either hire a taxi and reach Auli or take a state-run bus to reach Joshimath.

How to Reach Auli By Road

Auli is Located close to Joshimath in Uttarakhand, the easiest way to reach Auli is via public buses that ferry from Rishikesh to Joshimath. Joshimath is just 16 km from Auli.

How to Reach Auli By Train

The nearest railway station is Dehradun. You can take a bus from Dehradun to Auli, which is located at a distance of about 150 kilometers.
